院子很小，屋子里面还需要大整修（the house needed a lot of work），墙都有点糟了。

crumbly 易碎的，酥的，也可以用来形容饼干等食物

（注意：虽然是ly结尾，但是是个形容词）

kick sb out 让某人离开，赶出去

之前租的房子，只有一间卧室，

却卖了28万英镑（280 thousand pounds）；

比利时（Belgium）的妹妹家同样的价钱，

有四五个卧室，

而且是个经过全面再装修后的现代农场

（completely refurbished modern farm）。

在英国伦敦附近要买两到三居室的房子，要花费

超过一百万英镑（above a million pounds）

英语中数字的读法

英语数字都是以1000为单位的：

thousand(千),million（百万）,billion（十亿）。

比如1,234,567,890要读成：

one billion,two hundred thirty-four million,five hundred sixty-seven thousand,eight hundred ninety.

有点特殊的是：

2600可以读成 twenty-six hundred

关于什么时候加and：

如果 相邻的两位数字之间不是零的话,

and都是可以省去不读的；

如果出现零一般都得读出。

比如：1,405

one thousand four hundred andfive

305,400

three hundred and five thousand four hundred

出现零也可以不读出的情况只有如下这种：

200,300

two hundred thousand three hundred
