The newly opened Vinetree Yunnan-Vietnam Railway Tented Resort celebrates historic railway culture in Yunnan, southern China. The tented camp is located one kilometre from the historic Yunnan-Vietnam railway, not only Yunnan’s first, but the earliest international railway in the country. In the early 1900s, The Times newspaper in Britain hailed this engineering marvel as one of the “Three Greatest Engineering Wonders of the World,” not least the Herringbone Bridge, which is easy to visit when staying at the camp. The guest rooms are decorated with vintage items from the Yunnan Vietnam Railway, while outdoors the atmosphere is enhanced with retro oil lamps and old railway sleepers to highlight railway culture. The resort features 12 tented guest rooms with well-appointed communal spaces, including six panoramic tents that offer 360° mountain views.
